Prof. Unschuld is one of the most important living Sinologists and his research is the cornerstone of the knowledge of Traditional Chinese Thought and Culture. He is the founder and Director of the Horst-Goertz Institute for the Theory, History, and Ethics of Chinese Life Sciences at the Charité-Universitaetsmedizin in Berlin.
He is the President of the International Society for the History of East Asian Science, Technology and Medicine.
