Conventional Medicine
The term “Conventional Medicine” refers to the broad category of medical practices also known as the Western Medicine. It should be noted that the term Conventional Medicine turns out to be a pure definition in order to differentiate the different medical doctrines.

Complementary / Alternative Medicine
The terms “Conventional Medicine” and “Alternative Medicine” in some countries are used interchangeably with the term “Traditional Medicine”. The Complementary / Alternative Medicine often refers to the traditional medicine practiced in one country but that is not necessarily part of the traditions of the country itself. The terms “Complementary” and “Alternative” are sometimes used to refer to medical doctrines additional to Conventional Medicine. However, this is misleading because in some States, Complementary / Alternative Medicine is not only legislatively equated with Conventional Medicine, but it is also the primary and most used medical doctrine.

Herbal Products
Herbal preparations are produced by subjecting herbs to physical and biological processes such as extraction, fractionation, purification, concentration, etc.. These preparations can be produced for immediate use or as a base for herbal medicinal products.

Traditional Medicine
The term “Traditional Medicine” refers to a broad spectrum of medical practices that are difficult to define and describe, especially in a global context. The term Traditional Medicine means the typical medicine of a region, transmitted orally from generation to generation or officially in academia. These medical systems, whether they are limited geographically or spread in different regions of the world, are called traditional as practiced within their country of origin.
